Regenerative Endodontics:
- uses the concept of tissue engineering to restore the root canals to a healthy state, allowing for continued development of the root and surrounding tissue.
- as opposed to conventional root canal therapy, it keeps the tooth alive while it serves three goals: First, elimination of symptoms. Second, radiographic healing and continued root development. Third, positive response to sensibility testing (e.g., thermal testing or use of an electronic pulp tester)

Although this approach has distinct clinical benefits, additional study is needed to confirm the long-term prognosis when bioactive endodontic treatment is utilized.
