"The Ins and Outs of Dental Implants: Which Type is Best for Your Prosthetic Crown?"

Dental implants have revolutionized the way we approach tooth replacement. They are a popular and effective solution for those who have lost teeth due to injury, decay, or other reasons. However, when it comes to dental implants, there are different types of implant-retained restorations available. The three most common types are screw-retained, cemented-retained, and MTX.

Screw-retained implants involve the use of screws to attach the implant to the abutment. This method is preferred by many dentists because it allows for easy removal and replacement of the restoration if needed. Additionally, screw-retained implants offer better access for cleaning and maintenance.

Cemented-retained implants involve using dental cement to attach the implant to the abutment. This method is often used when aesthetics are a priority as it allows for a more natural-looking restoration. However, cemented-retained implants can be more challenging to remove if necessary.

Multi-Axial (MTX) technology is being offered by Modern Dental Laboratory to provide dentists another option in implant restorations. MTX allows the possibility of an angulated screw channel of up to 25 degrees. This allow for screw-retained implant restorations in areas such as the maxillary anterior teeth, resulting in the screw channel being placed aesthetically on the palatal side and eliminating the possibility of residual cement.
