Scaling and Polishing
Despite brushing and flossing after every meal, plaque and tartar will still build up on your teeth after eating, resulting in serious gum diseases or tooth decay in the long run. Thus, it is necessary to go for routine check-ups and cleaning by dental professionals via procedures called scaling and polishing . Scaling involves the use of ultrasonic scalers to loosen and remove plaque and tartar without damaging your gums and teeth. After scaling is completed, we then carry out polishing of the teeth to remove external stains and smooth out their surfaces.
Filling (Restoration)
A dental filling is a type of restorative dentistry treatment used to repair minimal tooth fractures, tooth decay or otherwise damaged surfaces of the teeth. Dental filling materials, which include composite, porcelain and silver amalgam, may be used to even out tooth surfaces for better biting or chewing.
Dentist will begin the dental filling procedure by preparing the tooth and necessary surrounding areas in order to restore the damaged area. The decay or damage is removed and the area is cleansed to remove bacteria or debris before it is “filled” with the filling materials.
Extraction ( Tooth removal)
The tooth extraction procedure is needed if a tooth is decayed or broken beyond repair. Depending on the condition of the tooth, extraction procedures include simple extraction and surgical extraction.
1. Simple extraction
Performed on visible teeth in the mouth under local anesthesia (the tooth is loosened from its socket and then removed with dental forceps).
2. Surgical extraction
A more complicated procedure for teeth that are severely broken and cannot be removed without surgery. Dentist would inject local or general anesthetics first to paralyze teeth and oral tissues and then turn the gums up to remove the alveolar bone and expose the teeth. When the teeth become loosened, they would be taken out with dental forceps. The wound will be sutured with surgical thread and the stitches will be removed after one to two weeks.
Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, becomes inflamed or infected.

The inflammation or infection can have a variety of causes: deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, or a crack or chip in the tooth.
In addition, an injury to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess.

Dental implant
A dental implant is a bio-compatible (titanium) structure embedded in the jawbone used to support false teeth, such as dentures, bridges or crowns.
The advantages of implant supported teeth are that they do not require grinding down neighboring teeth, and they resemble real teeth perfectly.
Also, it helps to reduce bone resorption, and preserve the thickness of bone. Implant can replace one or more missing teeth, and it can support a full mouth denture when all teeth are lost.
An individual’s suitability for implant treatments is determined by his or her general and oral health conditions.

Crown
A crown refers to the placement of an artificial crown on a tooth. When a tooth is fractured, extensively filled or severely decayed posing a high risk of fracture, the placement of a crown may be recommended to strengthen and protect the remaining tooth structure in order to restore the tooth back to its normal size, shape and function.
Dental bridge
A bridge is a fixed prosthesis that is used to replace one or more missing teeth. A bridge prevents the drifting of neighbouring teeth into the tooth space created after tooth extraction to restore functions of teeth, including mastication, speech and aesthetics.
Retainer
Removable retainers are made of a clear, hard plastic and cover all of your teeth on the entire upper and lower arch. They can be taken out to eat and for cleaning.
Silver Diamine Fluoride Treatment
FDA cleared in August of 2014, SDF became commercially available to dental professionals as Advantage Arrest by Elevate Oral Care. Compared to a traditional filling that may require shots of local anesthetic and drilling of tooth structure, this treatment is non-invasive and more comfortable for the patient. It is a liquid that is simply brushed on to the cavity that can stop current decay and also prevent new decay in the future.
